What’s your favorite cruise ship drink?

Cruise ships can certainly mix up a good cocktail, some ships have specially brewed craft beers, and all can mix a spirit or martini. However we find that most passengers have an old faithful drink that they always go back to.

Today we are mainly talking about Cocktails and Beers.

Cocktails

With Cocktails – each cruise line will have its list of standard cocktails. We find P&O have our favorite range, some of which are shown below (although P&O do have a greater selection than shown on the below list).

My favourites are the Lychee Lemonade Mojito (on the right in the picture below) and the Midori Splice.

The Cocktail range can be from the very sweet (such as Lychee Lemonade Mojito) to old favourites like margaritas and daiquiris.

Beers

With beers, Australian cruise lines tend to stock the staple brands (Fosters, etc), but becoming more popular these days is craft beers.

We feel P&O are the leaders with craft beer, stocking a selection of Matilda Bay Beers on tap in Schooner or Pint size glasses. This selection includes Ruby Tuesday, Fat Yak, Minimum Chips, IGP & Beezneez.

Princess Cruises also stock a specialty brewed craft beer, only available on Princess Ships called Seawitch Indian Pale Ale.

Also, becoming popular, is Cider, with again P&O the leader with selection, with options including Dirty Granny (Matilda Bay on tap), Strongbow, Blumers Original & Pear, Kopparberg Elderflower & Lime.

Often some cocktails and drinks are only served at certain bars, however on a cruise ship there is freedom to take drinks with you, so if you desire your favourite cocktail or beer during dinner, drop by the appropriate bar to pick it up on the way.

Buckets of Beer

Some cruise lines sell beer in buckets (i.e. Princess & Carnival), with the purchase providing a slightly cheaper cost per beer.
